What a Night Owl Tax Preparer does
This is a U.S.-based, fully remote, flexible part-time opportunity to prepare individual and small-business tax returns outside traditional business hours.
You'll work with real client situations, prepare organized workpapers and returns using firm-provided systems, and flag the things that don't quite make sense. We don't expect you to know everything. We do expect you to be curious enough to ask.
What you need
Candidates must hold a valid PTIN and complete the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP), or hold an applicable professional credential such as CPA or EA. Prior tax preparation experience is preferred.
Equipment, client data and review
Company equipment is provided. Client information must be accessed and stored only through approved company equipment and systems. All returns are subject to CPA review before filing.
When you work
Workload varies with client demand. Nights and weekends are welcome, but this isn't an overnight shift. Work when it works for you and meet the agreed-upon deadlines.
